The challenge was to design an enclosed space for a bathroom in the vast area of a loft in this Berkshire log home while maintaining the excitement of the openness and height.

During

The man of the house thought his vision of building the bathroom designed as a ship was just a whimsical daydream, but Erica Fay thought it was a great solution for making an intimate place within the vast space. She created a plan and drawings for the carpenter who was able to build this novel room.

After

The resulting “ship” is unique, fun, and functional. Now the soaring space has the perfect accent. Guests will remember their stay here.
